What is UV light?
UV light, also known as ultraviolet light, is a form of electromagnetic radiation that cannot be seen by the human eye. This type of radiation is emitted by the sun in waves with varying wavelengths, which refer to the distance between the peaks of light waves. UV light is typically measured in nanometers (nm).
There are 3 bands of UV light:

In the pass box, the chamber is disinfected using ultraviolet light, which helps to prevent the spread of pathogens through the air or on surfaces.

In general, it's recommended not to leave the UV germicidal lamp on for extended periods when using the pass box. Pass box manufacturers typically include an inching switch for the germicidal UV lamp to minimize harm to operators and reduce human exposure to UV radiation.
Structure of pass box UV light
The UV light system in the pass box consists of several components, including a left-side body, a right-side body (equipped with interlocking devices), an upper-side body, a lower-side body, an inner wall, and a UV germicidal lamp. The pass box is designed with a double-door interlock structure, facilitating the transfer of small items between clean areas or between clean and unclean areas. This design helps to minimize the number of door openings in the cleanroom and reduces the risk of cross-contamination between these areas.
