What is pass box?
Pass box is a type of facility typically situated on partition walls within a cleanroom. Its primary function is to serve as a buffer zone for transferring goods between the inside and outside of the cleanroom. This helps prevent any disruption of airflow and air pressure within the cleanroom that may occur when doors are opened for goods transfer. Additionally, it minimizes the time operators spend moving in and out, thus reducing the risk of dust contamination from external sources.
Equipped with UV lamps for bacterial control, pass boxes feature two interlocked doors, ensuring that when one door is open, the other cannot be opened simultaneously, thus preventing direct contact between connected areas.
Pass box installation procedure
In this section, VCR will guide you through the steps to install a pass box in a cleanroom.
Step 1: Determine the optimal placement of the pass box on your panel wall to achieve the most aesthetically pleasing configuration.
Step 2: Drill a hole in the wall, making sure it is approximately 10 mm larger than the outer diameter of the pass box.
Step 3: Insert the pass box into the wall, aiming for placement in the center of the wall to ensure balance and stability.
Step 4: Use decorative strips to embellish the area between the pass box and the wall, then seal it with glue.
The process of using the pass box
When the pass box is not in operation, both doors on either side remain closed. When delivering items, the deliverer opens one door to bring them in, while the other door remains closed. Once the items are delivered, the door is promptly closed, and the receiver opens the opposite door to retrieve the item before closing it.
Opening both doors simultaneously is prohibited.
Ensure to clean the pass box regularly upon completion of tasks.
